PRICHARD PROJECT MOVES TOWARD CONSTRUCTION

Public-private projects move at a pace all their own, and often that means years of planning and pushing before the dirt really starts to fly.

That certainly has been true of the long-awaited Wayne County link to the Heartland Corridor rail project, but now things are moving ahead.

This week Mountaineer Contractors Inc. of Kingwood, W.Va., was awarded the contract to build a $27 million intermodal facility near Prichard, W.Va. Officials hope construction can begin this fall and be completed in 2013.
